The Souris Regatta was an annual summer festival held in Souris, often with a focus on games and activities relating to the sea. In the earliest of years the regatta, quite fittingly, placed an emphasis on boat races. As the years progressed, another highlight of the regatta was the crowning of Miss Queen of the Sea. Another popular event was the greasy pole, a challenging game where on had to climb a greased pole over the water.

By 1964 the regatta featured a large parade which wound through Souris, finishing at the wharf and marina. Other events included the provincial Tug of War championships, as well as boat races. Fireworks were scheduled for this event, but were cancelled due to fog.

The 1989 Souris Regatta advertised a midway, dances, races, contests, and a community awards dinner[1].

The 2006 Souris Regatta included a boat poker run, boat races, tub races, and a trap hauling competition. At the Eastern Kings Sportsplex there was a midway, the Al Bernard magic show, a trade show, and the Miss Queen of the Sea pageant.
