Andrew Paton was born 15 October 1885 in Motherwell, Argyllshire, Scotland and died 15 November 1955 at his home in Rollo Bay West. He was buried in Bay Fortune, PEI, in the United Church Cemetery. He was a farmer. He married Lydia 'Jane' Chaffey , and together they had five children, Jessie, Andrew Jr., George , John and Flora.
As can be seen on his gravestone, two of their children, Annie E in 1918 and Samuel B in 1919, died when they were very young.
